A Colorful and Dramatic Display

Pierpaolo Piccioli's latest couture collection for Valentino was unveiled in a dazzling runway show called "Le Salon." The collection featured a range of vibrant colors, eye-catching textures, and dramatic silhouettes. Models adorned in colorful gowns, suits, and separates for all genders walked down a purple spiral staircase in Valentino's Place Vendôme atelier, showcasing every color of the rainbow.

The collection's pieces were crafted with couturiers' techniques and embellishments, and the designers pulled out all the stops to create an impressive display. The collection included slinky turquoise dresses, rose-red capes, topaz blazers, saffron shirts, mandarin dresses, mustard-yellow coats, kelly-green off-the-shoulder tops, and much more. The designers incorporated glitter tops and skirts made of tinsel, black puffy rosebud coats, and silver sequin tops, among other textures.

Pierpaolo Piccioli's signature style was evident throughout the collection. The collection featured dramatic silhouettes, including big bubble-hem ballroom skirts rendered in bold blues, longline vests that doubled as outerwear and statement pieces, jackets with massive pockets, and fluffy feather-trimmed dresses. The designers crafted hoods out of feather trims, and opera gloves became an extension of structured strapless dresses.

The theme of the collection was craft, as the designers didn't shy away from any silhouette or shape. The collection featured something for everyone, from enormous, boxy parka coats to sheer black button-down shirts and blazer and short sets. The show ended with sheer little nothings of black lace gowns, offering a practical dose of reality with pieces that could be worn day-to-day.

Accessories and styling were also an essential part of the collection. The designers included metallic belts, opera gloves, gold cuffs, and larger-than-life earrings that felt cool and at home in a couture collection. Consider it casual meets formal in the form of colorful couture. The show was attended by the well-heeled friends of the brand and A-listers, including Kylie Jenner, her daughter Stormi Webster, and Jennifer Lopez.
